Scoil Bhride, Kill, Co. Kildare supporting –
St. Michaels Community School, Lusaka, Zambia

The building of St. Michaels Community School, Lusaka Zambia was funded by TOUCH Ireland in 2007. It has over 800 pupils attending and the children being HIV / Aids orphans are coming from extremely poor families.

The pupils of Scoil Bhride, Kill became involved with TOUCH Ireland and has through fundraising:

• In 2009 bought school desks for St. Michaels Community School
• In 2010 sent funding through TOUCH Ireland for school materials eg. Text books, copies, charts and various other items needed.

The pupils of Scoil Bhride have given a commitment for further support to St. Michaels School and TOUCH Ireland. This type of support from a school in Ireland is invaluable as it can be very difficult for schools in Zambia to continue educating poor children without some financial assistance.

TOUCH Ireland’s ethos is that every child has a right to the basic needs eg. Shelter, Food, Health care and Education. By educating these children they are getting a chance for a better life and instilling hope for their future.
